happy monday!
it's been a minute since i shared some of the cards i've been making + mailing, especially for #mailitmonday. since i've been creating so many cards for both rounds one and two of #the100dayproject, i've been using a lot of them to mail out.
today though i thought i would share a card that i made for my friend who got married this past weekend. i was able to help design and make her wedding invites and that was so much fun! i'll be adding them to the custom order gallery here in the next few days, once i edit out some personal information.
one of my favorite things to do, specifically for wedding cards is to celebrate the couple and their new last name! i've done this for a handful of friends in a variety of ways, but this particular style is one of my favorites. it makes me so happy when i hear back [or personally see] that the card has been framed and/or is on display in their home - my heart melts!
mr and mrs is nice and bold in black on a layer of translucent vellum, which is overlapped on a layer of handmade white paper that has amazing fibers and textures woven into it. both layers are on a white panel, which is elevated off of the light grey card base with foam tape for added dimension. clear acetate letters spelling out the last name of the newlywed couple are the top layer of this card, with one tiny silver heart on each letter.
the hearts not only add detail, but are also functional as they are the attachment mechanism for the letters. this is important because then the letters actually move a little bit. you can see this with the first 'c' of the last name that is just slightly higher than the rest - i'm considering it to signify the capitalization.
it's such a fun font and those hearts are so freaking adorable! i'm just thrilled with the way it turned out. based on a text message from the bride after the wedding - i think she liked it too, so yay!
i've got a few other cards in mind to mail this week, but let's get back to some of those non-traditional holidays to celebrate as well, shall we?

it's still a few weeks out, but halloween is october 31 and i've got a great variety of cards available for sending here.
