another week of #quarantine2020 and another week of not knowing what day it is equals another card to share.
last week i was able to spend a short amount of time playing around with some new alcohol inks that i just had to have after watching a jennifer mcguire video and reading her blog and holy moly, i am over the moon that i gave in.
i made a bunch of backgrounds and wasn't sure what i was going to do with them, but i enlisted the help of jon for this particular card.
he helped pick out the background to use, which sentiment to stamp and what color to make the die-cut hearts. while we heat-embossed the sentiment he even said it was like magic. i just love that he gets as excited as i do!
i shared a little bit more about these inks in this post with the card i made for day 6/100 of #the100dayproject and i'm so happy that they work so well with the colors that i already own.
the gold that is sprinkled throughout the front is just gorgeous when you tilt the card to catch the light. to try and coordinate with that without taking away from the background, we stamped and embossed the sentiment in gold ink. the left edge of the black strip is purposely torn to coordinate with the organic feel and flow of the inked background.
the small row of hearts are die-cut from a shiny metallic gold cardstock to match as well. this card is pretty minimalist but i think it packs a major punch and i'm positive the recipient [who is super important to both jon and me] will love it.
i can't wait to bust out a bunch more backgrounds and drop more happiness in the mail. if you're looking for a few reasons, here's the non-traditional holidays coming up this week:
april 15 - national take a wild guess day
april 16 - national wear your pajamas to work day [perfect for our current situations]
april 17 - national haiku poetry day
april 18 - national animal crackers day
april 19 - national hanging out day
april 20 - national cheddar fries day
april 21 - national library workers day
but as always - i encourage you to send mail any and everyday for any reason to share a little happiness.
