my card for today was inspired by a technique i saw on social media, combining distress ink and water to create a watercolor like effect. i received two packages of happy mail in the form of supplies today [#quarantine2020 has definitely increased my online shopping!] and i wanted to use one of the new sets.

so i've had this idea in my mind for quite some time and tonight, despite it being super late when i got home from work, i decided to try it. 

i am so happy that i did because i absolutely love it. i ended up making two cards in the same style for two friends & i cannot wait to hand deliver them! i'm also sharing a bunch of photos because i'm just so happy with the results!

the black lines around the perimeter of the envelope were added with one of my favorite pens. it's a black glaze pen and it adds the slightest bit of texture but writes so smoothly. it is also reflective in the light. 

as for the card itself - i'll apologize now to anyone who might get or be offended [sorry momma!] with the saying on this card. i assure everyone it's all in good fun! [plus it's from the amazing cathy zielske stamp set and you all know how much i adore her.]

it's certainly not the most complex card, but one thing i really stand behind is that it's not how fancy a card is or how much you write inside, but the fact that you took the time to pick out a card and drop it in the mail. we need to be sharing as much handmade happiness as we can right now.
