today the inspiration wheel landed on pattern play and i decided to try something different. i recently ordered some new tag die-cuts and have been itching to play with them for the upcoming holidays. i am a sucker for a nicely wrapped present and i think they mean more when they look nice. i always try and have some kind of ribbon or twine or something to accompany the wrapping paper and this year i'm looking forward to using some handmade tags!

this block of patterned paper has such an inspiring sentiment that i've wanted to use on a card for some time now. i can see this one being framed or displayed in a tiny human's room/nursery. [it's also kind of motivating for me too - i do love sleep but don't get nearly enough!]

when i sat down to create today's card, i had the idea to find inspiration from something on my desk. i didn't know if it would be a color scheme or a line design or what, but decided to take a few minutes and just look around to see what spoke to me.

today's card was inspired by yesterday's card in the sense that i decided to utilize scrap pieces of paper from my stash. i also wanted to use a newer sentiment from the pretty pink posh set and as an added challenge to myself, i selected patterned papers that were all in the same color family. a few of them have other minor color details, but for the most part it's a monochromatic card.
