when we unexpectedly lost our pupper hercules early last year, one thing that helped was knowing how much people cared, as well as knowing how much joy he brought to their lives too. so many stories were shared in the cards we received. we believe he's over the rainbow bridge just waiting for us and i decided to use that feeling for today's card.

i used a combination of three colors of distress ink; shabby shutters, peeled paint and mowed lawn to randomly blend through a wonky circle stencil. i wanted there to be areas where the colors were darker than others and i think that the background turned out great. i used a fourth color - rustic wilderness to blend around the edges of the panel.

i'm so jazzed about the card today because i had a little help in creating it! well not the actual creating of it, but with suggestions of colors and tools to use. my brother was in town for the weekend and while we were hanging out i told him that the theme for the day [courtesy of the wheel of inspiration] was stencil. i handed him my container of stencils and asked him to pick one. additionally, i asked him to chose 2-4 colors that were near each other on the color wheel. he decided on teal/green, blue and purple. i then got to work!
