on today's card i used a stamp from a set that i bought primarily for one single stamp. it's not often that i do this as i like to have a variety of options when i'm creating, and now that i own the set i'm sure i'll use all of the stamps - but i bought it for one single stamp, and that's the stamp i'm using today.

i started with a white panel and i dry embossed it, purposely on a diagonal with a hexagon pattern. then i stamped a few small hexagons in neon pink. i also spritzed silver ink all over the panel for a subtle detail.

i embossed the front of the card with an xo pattern so you can see it when the card is open. it adds a nice little bit of texture in that tone-on-tone way. to highlight the pattern i selected three x's and o's in a visual triangle and overlapped the texture with a black glaze pen.

today i wanted to recreate [in a sense] a card that i made several years ago. i had borrowed a stamp set from a friend and made a batch of cards that were similar in style. well it turns out, i ordered the same stamps for myself when they were on a huge clearance sale!

i switched up a handful of details and i'm not sure how i feel about the results, but that's one of the great things about this project and stretching my creativity.
