earlier today i was fortunate enough to join two girlfriends for lunch [while appropriately social distancing, especially considering we were the only people in the entire area of the restaurant!] and it was so, so good to sit and laugh for a couple hours. these are work friends and while i see them at work, it's never enough time to fully catch up, so i was grateful for today. i was also telling them about this project and my self-imposed rules. i even showed them the inspiration wheel which, when spun, happened to land on inside element - so that's what i'm focusing on today!
today's card was completely inspired by some neon flowers that jon bought me the other day. while i know they're not at all naturally these colors, i can't deny that they are gorgeous and make my office pop!
my card for today was inspired by a technique i saw on social media, combining distress ink and water to create a watercolor like effect. i received two packages of happy mail in the form of supplies today [#quarantine2020 has definitely increased my online shopping!] and i wanted to use one of the new sets.
while i've been working to add positive and uplifting designs to my storefront, over the next few days i plan to add in some mother's day cards since that's the next big event coming up. i think a special card, perhaps paired with a small group of blank cards and postage stamps could be a wonderful and meaningful gift - something to consider for sure.
happy sunday - it's my friday night! yay! one of the perks of my current schedule is that i work four long days and then get three off, so tonight is actually my friday night, one of two! i was super jazzed to come home and work on today's card because the color swatch is super fun.
