i pulled a few colors of ink and decided to use the same stamp over and over to create a pattern that i would then add a sentiment to. moving in rainbow order [of course!] i inked up the stamp, spritzed it with water and smooshed it onto the paper. i elected to use heavy weight cardstock instead of watercolor paper which changed the end result a bit, but i like it.

i was pretty jazzed when the inspiration wheel landed on pattern play today - i've been itching for a reason to use coordinating patterns. one of my favorite ways to do this is to utilize 6x6 paper pads. generally speaking, the colors coordinate and often share patterns/themes that mix well together. plus, the designs are smaller than traditional 12x12 pages so they look amazing on cards!

when i say that i have a lot of patterned paper, it's not an exaggeration. i could probably wallpaper every room in my house, floor to ceiling ten times over - and still have paper left. that's one of the perks/downfalls of working in a scrapbooking store for so long. i often forget that i have such a variety and i'm trying to use it more often.

i started with a white panel and i dry embossed it, purposely on a diagonal with a hexagon pattern. then i stamped a few small hexagons in neon pink. i also spritzed silver ink all over the panel for a subtle detail.
