#the100dayproject : 15/100

day fifteen! we're officially past the two week mark - crazy how time flies!

speaking of flying, today i decided i wanted to play around with some products i've had for a little while but haven't used. i only made one card but now i have the knowledge of how to make this style of card. when i mentioned flying - it has to do with today's subject matter.

i have this adorable little bee die-cut from paper smooches and i think somewhere along the way i saw it cut from squishy fun foam, so that's what i did! it's got this great little texture and i added some amazing pearlescent vellum from lawn fawn for the wings. [i'm not going to lie, i'm hoarding this stuff like gold!] when the light hits it just right, man is it amazing!

the faux-stitching around the edges is one of my favorite details - as are the blades of grass. i inked around the edges of the faux-stitched panel with distress ink for a little added depth.

playing off of the bee, i used the sentiment "just because" and stamped it in black ink near the top of the card.

it isn't super visible in the photo below, but if you head to my instagram, you can see the boomerang of the bee in motion. not only does it spin in circles, but it spins around the circle on the front of the card.

i feel like this card could use some more details, but as i was primarily playing around to see how it would come together, i kinda dig it. now i know for the next one about how long it takes to assemble and i can make it more detailed.

i'm thinking tomorrow i will get back to using my color swatch book and making several cards at the same time. i'm also hoping to share my mail it monday/whatday - this pandemic and changing of schedules has really thrown me for a loop [that i'm not a huge fan of!]

also on the agenda - a little cleaning, organizing and hopefully finishing up my bargello project i hinted at last week - and i can't wait to share the final piece! stay tuned!
