#the100dayproject : 2022 : 14/100 - hope your birthday is awesome

i'm bringing a little razzle dazzle to the table with the card for day 14 of #the100dayproject and combining some of my latest favorite things; mini slimline, foil and birthdays. 

i saw a technique on facebook in one of the crafty groups that i'm in for adhering iridescent foiling to matte cardstock and my mind was slightly blown! i couldn't wait to try it. i'm not 100% thrilled with this first result, only because i feel like the cardstock wasn't matte enough for you to really see the foiled accents, but it could also be due to the pattern as well. i guess it just means i'll have to keep trying it!

the lighting has a lot to do with the awesomeness of this card too - as you move the card around you can see the sparkle and shine of the iridescent foil. i die-cut the panel i foiled with this scalloped shape and added a little flag with the sentiment "hope your birthday is awesome". i stamped it in black ink to coordinate with the card base but the inside features a white panel for your personal message [not shown].

another element that i like about this technique [foiling] is that during the process the design is almost de-bossed into the paper so you get the awesome color of the foil but also a slight texture. so fun. 

i know i've said it before, but i love this project! i always find so much inspiration and i just enjoy playing with new techniques and products. i'm actually trying to stop buying products to use what i have [because let's face it - i have so. much. stuff.] but the problem is these companies keep coming out with things i have to have! i suppose it's a good problem to have. 

i plan to get a bunch of these cards all listed this upcoming weekend - i'd rather spend my time making but realize i need to list them! stay tuned.
