#the100dayproject : 2022 : 6/100 - wishing you the happiest birthday

happy day 6/100 of the #the100dayproject!

and hooray for a new result on the spinning wheel of inspiration! today's spin landed on inside element and i thought what better style of card than a birthday card to have a message on the inside?

i began by collecting a trio of distress oxide inks and a set of stencils from erin lee creative to create my background. i only used one color per stencil instead of blending, but once the colors were all layered i spritzed some water droplets on the panel. i waited a few moments and then used a paper towel to soak them up. i like the added level of dimension that this technique provides. even though i used the same technique and supplies for all four cards in this series, each one is slightly different - one of my favorite benefits of a non mass-produced card!

the large sentiment on the front is from mft and i stamped it twice in black ink to provide a sharp, crisp image. i added a smattering of red matte sequins and tiny reflective purple stars for a little extra pizazz. perhaps my favorite part of this handmade card? the inside - as directed by the inspiration wheel.

let's be honest. we've all forgotten a friend's birthday or messed up dates on the calendar, right? this card is here to save the day! the front message doesn't elude to forgetting anything, but the inside expresses your apologies with the quirky sentiment "better late than never".

i have to admit that i really like the way that this turned out! it's something a little different than what i normally create. i have had some requests for more cards with details on the inside, so be on the lookout for that!

6 down, 94 to go!
