#the100dayproject : 4/100-2

happy weekend, friends!

does it feel like fall wherever you are? today was a bit warmer but as i drove around town running my weekend errands [grocery store, bank and library] i noticed all the leaves on trees starting to change colors.

this is my favorite time of year! changing leaves, soup weather, college football, cozy sweatpants and all the apple and pumpkin goodness. ahhh...makes me so happy!

the inspiration wheel landed on stenciled so i decided to stencil a partial background on my card front using a similar color ink to that of the card base for a tone-on-tone effect.

i feel like the colors represent the deep fall season - rich greens, deep scarlet and royal purple with shiny gold accents. these die-cuts are from a newer product to me, a die set from altenew. there are a bunch of different patterns included and the intricacy is just incredible. i'm seriously wowed at how amazing they are.

the gold is super shiny, but not overly metallic. i love the way the overlapping leaves just work together - they're so visually pleasing. i elevated the middle purple leaf with foam adhesive for a little extra dimension. the edges of the gold details are not adhered completely because i like the way they look slightly lifted from the card base.

the background stenciled pattern is intentionally on an angle and is faded out towards the edges of the card base. it's a subtle detail but i think it adds some great visual interest.

stamped in black ink is the sentiment "thinking of you" and while this card screams autumn/fall, it could be used at any time. you can pick yours up here in my online shop.

what will tomorrow's wheel land on? you'll have to come back to check it out! thanks for following along so far - your support is so appreciated!
