#the100dayproject - 46/100

happy friday friends!

today i decided to use those awesome butterfly stamps i first tried out a few days ago when i made the card for day 33/100. i used am ombre color scheme in a gorgeous aqua that i absolutely love.

the idea was to have them look like they're floating or flying across the card but i'm not sure that i love the results. [it's amazing how things turn out differently in real life than in our heads!]

each portion of the colored wings are slightly darker than the wings above it, creating that transition of color for the ombre look. the black portions of the wings are so incredible detailed - it's absolutely amazing to me how crisp and clean they stamp! [i have a few more ideas for some cards with these wings, watercolors and a resist technique that i still can't wait to try!]

i decided on a simple thank you sentiment because the butterflies are already so detailed. i keep going back and forth with myself as to whether or not this is a stamp set where less is more. i almost think this looks a little cluttered, but overall i do like it.

for the base i decided to use the middle-most color of aqua for a nice, balanced card. i also rounded the top right corner of both the panel and the card base. i feel like it helps soften the card just a bit.

i'm sometimes a fan of unrealistic color choices. while i've never personally seen an aqua colored butterfly, i'd like to think that somewhere they exist - especially if they look like these!

here's hoping that your holiday weekend includes something you enjoy, some good food and maybe even a celebration - all while social distancing of course!
