#the100dayproject : 52/100

today's card is one i've wanted to make for quite some time - and i finally did it. let me say, holy toledo it's awesome. i couldn't have asked for better results.

i used another newer product - a stamp and die-cut combo from lawn fawn. i began by stamping and cutting out the image before coloring it in with prismacolor markers.

i stamped the main sentiment "i predict your day will be" in versamark ink and heat embossed it in white on a subtle tone-on-tone patterned black paper. sparkly, shimmery black cardstock fills the bottom portion of the card front.

i colored the tablecloth with a glittery pen for added shimmer - because obviously a fortune teller's table would be sparkly. the crystal ball has been covered with a silver coated die-cut circle.

and this is where the magic comes in. to show you how this card works, i created an additional sample...

the word "scratch" and a small arrow are stamped next to the cat and crystal ball.

you can use any coin to scratch off the silver coating - just like you would on a lottery ticket! there's a video on my instagram feed and you can check it out here

once it's completely scratched off, you'll be able to see the hidden message:

it completes the sentiment - "i predict your day will be ... filled with smiles" and it just makes me so happy. i love interactive cards and this one is a new style for me. i've got so many additional ideas floating around the idea/concept of scratching things off.

the card base is yellow which plays off of the stars and moon on the tablecloth. i decided the cat needed to be grey with some subtle dark grey stripes. part whimsical, part realistic, all awesome.

i'm having so much fun with these cards - have i mentioned that?!
