#the100dayproject : 61/100

today's card uses one of my favorite stamp sets! when i first saw this set years ago, i knew i needed to have it. i'm so happy i purchased it, as it is now discontinued. a few years ago i made a card that was popular and sold out rather quickly, so today i decided to make one that's very similar, but slightly different.

a faux-stitched circle is the main panel on the front of this card base, and layered on top of it is a background revealing die-cut clouds. sitting on a little wire [also with stitched detail] is a little wonky bird.

he is just my favorite. i don't know why exactly, but i just love his little expression. i stamped and die-cut the bird before coloring him with prismacolor markers. i haven't seen a bird in these bright shades of yellows and oranges, but i would like to think that somewhere he exists. he is also layered on the cloud background with foam tape for added dimension [hence the little shadow below him.]

i felt like the font of the stamped sentiment "i like your face" paired nicely with the wonky-ness of the little bird. plus, it's just a fun sentiment that could be used for a variety of reasons when sending snail mail.

there are several other birds in this stamp set and i have a few other cards in the works. they won't be a set per-se, but they will all have similar qualities and characteristics. if you like this one, it's more than likely you'll like the others as well!

who wouldn't enjoy receiving this complimentary card? i just adore the way that it turned out - i hope you do too!
