#the100dayproject : 95/100

today's card is fitting into three challenges:

#thedailymarker30day - day ten
#the100dayproject - 95/100
mft sketch challenge - 497

here's the sketch that serves as inspiration:

i happened to use mostly mft products and had so much fun with it! here's my take:

just ignore the dark shadows - still working on lighting in my somewhat new setup - but how cute is that little dino? his belly is shiny thanks to a new marker and he's smiling. plus, how adorable is that sentiment?

i used a lawn fawn stencil to ink up some clouds on the background of the polaroid photo before adding in some polka dotted green grass. i stamped and die-cut the dino from mft and used some prismacolor markers to color him in. i just love blending these markers! like i mentioned above, his belly and scales are shiny and his eyeball has a gloss to it too. i added in some polka dotted washi tape along the bottom of the polaroid which is similar in color to both the dinosaur as well as the sentiment strip.

because it's a t-rex, it's even funnier that the sentiment reads "sending an extra large hug" because his arms are so tiny. i have no idea what color dinos actually were, so i went with the yellow and orange combo, with splashes of red to match the background. i also planned it that the stripes on his belly match the patterned paper in the background.

i'm a big fan of the way that it turned out - i love using sketches and don't do it nearly enough. i'll be linking up this card to the mft blog - i always enjoy checking out the other entries to the sketch challenge - i encourage you to do so too!

95 days down, 5 to go!
