#the100dayproject : 98/100

Posted by Kerry Wills on

[it wasn't until i woke up this morning that i realized how much a 14-hour shift at work yesterday really kicked my butt! all day long i was exhausted - but had another long day ahead of me.]

i had a few ideas for cards in mind but when i got home from work i was fighting a pretty big headache, so i went with something simpler - but that has also been on my list of to-makes.

this block of patterned paper has such an inspiring sentiment that i've wanted to use on a card for some time now. i can see this one being framed or displayed in a tiny human's room/nursery. [it's also kind of motivating for me too - i do love sleep but don't get nearly enough!]

i paired the rectangle of patterned paper with another block of gray, slightly off setting the two. near the bottom of the card base i added a strip of coordinating patterned paper that i purposely tore on the left edge.

i added some hand drawn white lines with one of my favorite gel pens along the bottom in a dash and dot pattern. i was hoping it would help ground the design a bit.

three tiny, slightly translucent hearts embellish the bottom right and upper left corners. the main patterned rectangle is elevated with foam tape and although it casts a harsh shadow in the photo, it looks so cool in real life.

another detail that i added in was some clear gel pen over top of the word 'mountains'. it highlights it a little bit with some shine, but it's not over the top.

i've seen this saying before "let her sleep for when she wakes she will move mountains" and i'm not sure where it's technically or originally from, but man do i love it.

this card is different than a lot of my others, especially since it doesn't have any stamping or die-cutting, but i just like the simplicity and the inspiration behind it. i think we all might know a female that it could apply to, right?

the more i create one-of-a-kind cards, the more i enjoy them. i think the next time i do this challenge [oh yeah, i'm already planning another round!] i think i'll do one of a kind cards each day to get a nice little series.

two more days left - i can hardly believe it! i hope you'll come back to see the final results. :)
