#the100dayproject : handmade card 17/100-2 : it's your birthday

happy friday friends!

today's card came together after a long night at work, so i wanted to create something relatively simple. the inspiration wheel landed on inside element!

using a few shades of aqua and blue inks from pinkfresh studios, i repeatedly stamped the sentiment "it's your birthday" in a horizontal row on the white card front. i then drew thin black lines on an angle around the perimeter to create a border.

"it's your birthday" is stamped five times in a row horizontally in shades of aqua and blue. thin black lines surround the perimeter of the white card front. a light grey envelope is included with this card and creates a nice background.

on the inside of the card is the feature sentiment, "celebrate". it is stamped in the same middle blue as on the front of the card for continuity.

the inside of the card features the word celebrate, stamped in the same dark blue as on the front of the card. it's in a scripty, flowy font and there's plenty of room for a personal message or sentiment to be included.

this is one of my favorite fonts and i love the scripty-ness of it. the color palette lends itself to anyone for a birthday card, regardless of gender or age. while it's a simple card in terms of design, it gets the point across while allowing the sender to add in their personal message or sentiment.

a light grey envelope is included as well. this one will soon be listed in the shop! i had different ideas in mind for today's card, but they just didn't come together the way that i was expecting, so i'll try again a different day. some days you just gotta roll with "done is better than perfect" - and that's how i'm feeling today.

i've got a fun weekend ahead and i hope that you do too! more tomorrow for day 18!
