Mail It Monday #5

Mail It Monday #5

welcome to another edition of mail it monday, where i provide details of the snail mail that i have personally mailed out the previous week.

today i'm highlighting a card that i made + mailed to a friend. she lives nearby and we've worked together at two different jobs over the years. it seems that since we both left the last job, we haven't been together as much or texted as frequently and i wanted her to know that i still think of her often and miss her!

when starting out to create this card, i didn't have an end goal or plan in mind, which is sometimes how i begin. one of her favorite colors is pink and i knew that i wanted to incorporate that. starting with a white card front panel, i stamped three rows of triangles in a bright pink ink. near the right side, i stamped the sentiment "miss you" in black ink over the pink triangles. because the pink was pretty richly colored, i stamped the black sentiment three times to ensure deep coverage.

perhaps my favorite element of the card, is the smattering of sequins that i added across the card front. using a combination of these super shiny clear sequins from pretty pink posh, i added in a few flat black sequins and one bright pink one. the card design is a little busy, but i also think that it flows. lastly, the white panel is elevated off of the coordinating colored card base with foam adhesive. i tucked it into a pink envelope from gina k [not pictured] because i cannot get enough of her envelopes!

i think my friend will love it - not only the card itself, but the fact that i took the time to send her some happy mail. it's one of the highlights of my week, planning out who's going to get mail and what i want to create. you can check out all the previous mail it monday cards i've sent here, in the mail it monday gallery

if you aren't already signed up for my newsletter, i encourage you to sign up - i share ideas, inspiration and reasons to send mail. i promise not to sell or give away your information or bombard you with useless crap.

upcoming fun reasons to send some mail:

november 20 - national educational support professionals day [a great day to say thank you to a teacher or an educator!]

november 23 - national espresso day

and don't forget - next thursday [11/28] is thanksgiving - keep in mind all those who won't be with you or with family who could use a dose of happy mail to know you're thankful for them.

coming up later - edition one of my holiday gift giving guide, i have ideas for everyone - [because who doesn't love mail in one way or another?]

i appreciate you taking the time to stop by. feel free to share with a friend!
