#the100dayproject : 3/100

who doesn't need a hug these days?

i've had in my head that i wanted to create a card with a hug-related message for a little bit and today's color scheme reminded me of a friendly valentine, so i decided to roll with it!

i began with a mint julep card base and layered on some lilac grace. i used a pretty large die-cut in the shape of a heart as the focal point of the card front. i stamped the sentiment in black ink which features one of my favorite type-writer type fonts.

the focal word "hugs" is die-cut from some raspberry fizz cardstock and is layered over the large purple heart and completes the sentiment.

three small hearts are scattered across the card front in the last color from today's selection, berry sorbet.

i paired this card with a purple envelope to coordinate.

it's a somewhat simple design but i like the way it came together. and as i mentioned earlier, who doesn't need a hug right now? while the colors are a little softer and maybe more feminine, i think this card could be sent to anyone.

this challenge is really stretching me - both in color schemes and ideas and it's only day three. i'm really excited to see where the next 97 days take me!
